The situation
A team of twenty runs its operations on shared spreadsheets. Versions drift, anyone can overwrite anything, and managers wait for someone to compile the weekly numbers by hand.
How we approach it
- 01Shadow the team for a few days and list every spreadsheet, who edits it and why.
- 02Prototype the three most-used workflows and test them with the people who do the work.
- 03Build the web app with accounts, roles and an approval step where mistakes are costly.
- 04Import the existing data, run both systems side by side for two weeks, then switch over.
